CPD Makes Warrant Arrest

August 4th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

On August 3, 2017 the Cumberland Police served an arrest warrant on Acres Asante Bradshaw-Teel.  The warrant stems from an incident Cumberland Police investigated on April 14, 2017.  In that incident police responded to the 400 block of Valley Street for a destruction of property complaint.  Police learned an adult male and adult female were seated in a vehicle when the vehicle was approached by Bradshaw-Teel.  He began arguing with the female, who he knew, and then reached through the window and grabbed her by the hair.  The driver saw what was going on and began driving away to prevent any further assault.  Bradshaw-Teel then ran back to his vehicle and drove it in front of the other vehicle, preventing him from being able to drive away.  Bradshaw-Teel again approached the passenger side of the vehicle where the female was seated and broke the window before he finally left the area.  Police applied for charges with the District Court Commissioner’s office and a warrant was issued.  Bradshaw-Teel is charged with 2nd Degree Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Willful Motor Vehicle Damaging without Owner’s Consent, Malicious Destruction of Property -$1000, Disturbing the Peace-Hindering Passage, and several traffic charges.  The female did not sustain any injuries during the incident.

Police also served a Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on Bradshaw-Teel.  The bench warrant charges him with failing to appear for court on July 13, 2017 for a suspended license case.

Bradshaw-Teel was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on a total of $7500 bond.
