On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Zainab Dawood. The summons was issued in connection with an incident that occurred on October 31, 2022. On this date at approximately 5:42 PM, police responded to Willowbrook Rd. for a disabled vehicle. The vehicle was unoccupied. Officers discovered that the registration plates attached to the vehicle did not belong on it. While officers were on scene, they were notified that the owner of the vehicle, Zainab Dawood, had just called in to report that her vehicle had been stolen. After further investigation, it was learned that Dawood had falsely claimed that her vehicle had been stolen and that she had actually been the operator of the vehicle. The officer filed for charges against Dawood at the District Court of Allegany County. Dawood signed for her copy of the summons and was released pending trial.

BENCH WARRANT SERVED
On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Cora Houdersheldt. The warrant was issued as the result of Houdersheldt failing to appear in court on December 13, 2022. She was originally charged with driving on a suspended license. Houdersheldt was arrested and transported to Central Booking. She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on her personal recognizance.

BENCH WARRANTS SERVED
On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served four bench warrants on Mary Yoder. The warrants were issued as the result of Yoder violating the conditions of her probation. She was originally charged with Theft less than $100 in three of the cases and Theft $100 to under $1500 in the other case. Yoder was arrested and transported to Central Booking. She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on four $500 bonds.
