Cumberland Arrested On Assault Charges

On Sunday, March 17th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a N. Centre Street residence for an assault complaint. When officers arrived, they spoke with a male resident who stated that his roommate struck him in the face with his head. Officers did observe an injury consistent with his statement. Officers then spoke with the roommate who was identified as Eric Van Rexroth. Rexroth admitted to the assault and as a result, he was arrested and charged with 2nd degree assault. Rexroth was taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.

Eric Van Rexroth, age; 50, Cumberland, Maryland.

On Sunday, June 17th, 2018 the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Mark Jonathan Tallman.  The warrant was issued when application was made to District Court alleging that back on September 2nd, 2017, Tallman forcefully entered an apartment in the 1900 blk. of Frederick Street assaulted the resident.  He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.

 

Mark Jonathan Tallman, age; 25, Cumberland, Maryland.

Charges:  Burglary 3rd degree, assault 2nd degree, and disturbing the peace.
