There are any number of public baseball and soccer fields, tennis courts, playgrounds and tracks across Cumberland that have fallen into disrepair- and city officials are working on both short and long term solutions. During a recent city council work session, the subject of deteriorating athletic facilities was brought to the table, with officials pointing to significant budget cuts to the Parks and Recreation Department made during previous administrations as a contributing factor.
