Cumberland Female Resisting Arrest and served Warrant’s

On Tuesday, October 17th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police responded to the 1000 block of Industrial Blvd for a warrant service. Upon arrival, officers located a female subject, Nalesia McCauley, 22, of Cumberland MD, seated inside a parked vehicle. Officers then made contact with McCauley and had her exit the vehicle. Officers then advised McCauley she was under arrest and attempted to place her in handcuffs. At that time, she pulled away from officers and began to flee the area on foot. Officers gave chase and McCauley was able to be apprehended a short time later.

McCauley was also served with two active arrest warrants issued by the Allegany County District Court. The first warrant stemmed from an incident on May 28th, 2023, where it was alleged that McCauley had provided false statements and identification in an active police investigation. The second warrant stemmed from an incident that occurred on June 16th 2023 in the area of E. First St. On that date, it is alleged that McCauley assaulted a female subject.

McCauley was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. She is currently being held on a total of $3000 bond.
