On Thursday, May 23rd, 2019, the Cumberland City Police responded the 400 block of Columbia St. for the report of a disturbance. Upon the officer’s arrival on scene, they observed two female subjects involved in an active disturbance in the street. The officer ordered the females to cease their disruptive behaviors and walk away from one another. The females continued to yell at one another, disobeying the officer’s orders. At this time, a male subject, identified as Richard Alexander Comire, approached one of the females in an aggressive manner, yelling and cursing aloud. Comire was then ordered to cease his actions. Comire continued his behavior and attempted to charge past the officer in order to get to the female. At this time, the male was informed he was under arrest and to place his hands behind his back. As the officer placed restraints on Comire, he began to resist and shove the officer. The officer was able to gain control of Comire after escorting him to the ground. As a result, both Comire and a female, Amanda Linn Lewis, were arrested and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. Lewis was issued a Criminal Citation for disorderly conduct and released. Comire was taken before the District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance where he was released on his own personal recognizance.
