Cumberland Man Killed In Accident

On Friday, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack, responded to Rt. 40 in the Narrows for a single vehicle collision.

Investigation concluded the vehicle a 2015 Nissan passenger car, was being operated by a 55 year old Cumberland man who suffered from a heart attack while driving. The vehicle collided with a utility pole, a light pole and overturned onto the vehicle’s roof. The driver was transported the WMHS and later succumbed to his illness.

West Virginia State Police report that 42 year-old Shawn Bowman of  Cumberland was killed early Friday when his 2000 Chevrolet Silverado left Ford Hill Road near Rio, West Virginia and struck trees. Bowman’s juvenile son was transported by Mathias/Baker EMS to Winchester (Va.) Medical Center following the 7:30 a.m. accident. The investigation remains under investigation
