August 2nd, 2016 by WCBC Radio

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, announced on Tuesday,  that Bo Palmisano, 27 of Cumberland, was sentenced relating to a 2013 conviction for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Violation of Probation.

Following a jury trial in May 2013, Palmisano failed to appear for his sentencing hearing and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Despite local law enforcement’s best efforts to locate him, he was not apprehended until Wednesday, July 27, 2016.

The Honorable Judge Gary Leasure, who presided over the trial in 2013, returned from retirement to sentence Palmisano, sentencing him to five years in the Maryland Department of Corrections.

According to Assistant State’s Attorney Erich Bean, who prosecuted the case “Mr. Palmisano absconded to avoid serving prison time.  I’m not sure where he has been for the last three years, but it wasn’t here in Cumberland. His arrest represents another success from our local Safe Streets Initiative.”

The Cumberland City Police Department investigated the case.  Palmisano was represented by attorney Murray Blum of Baltimore
