Cumberland Police Department Pfc. James Beck was honored this week as the 2022 Officer of the Year. The award was presented during a ceremony held as part of the regular meeting of the Mayor and City Council. Police Chief Chuck Ternent presented officer Beck’s impressive resume which includes an extensive and varied law enforcement career and also includes time working for the federal department of Homeland Security. In addition, Beck has three bachelors degrees and served 23 years in the Air Force.
