Cumberland Police Make Assault Arrests

On Monday, August 19th, 2019, The Cumberland City Police Department responded to the 400 Block of Columbia St for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, a male victim was contacted. The victim advised officers he had become involved in a verbal altercation with a female inside the home. He stated the altercation escalated and the female attacked him, causing visible injury to his arm. As a result of the investigation, Kerri Ann Bohrer, 45, was placed under arrest. She was taken before the District Court Commissioner where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. She is currently being held on $2500 bond.

***Adult Arrest***

On Monday, August 19th, 2019, The Cumberland City Police Department responded to the 300 block of Industrial Blvd for the report of an assault. Upon arrival on scene, officers contacted two male victims. The victims advised that they were walking in the area when they observed several subjects also walking nearby. They advised one of the subjects called out to them, but they ignored them and continued on their way. They advised the subjects then approached them and confronted them about a stolen bicycle. The confrontation then turned physical, and both victims were assaulted. One of the victims was struck by a brick, causing substantial injury to his head. The victims were able to provide a description of the suspects involved. One of the suspects was located a short distance away on foot and positively identified by the victims. As a result of the investigation, Javas Chayton Bohrer, Age 18, was placed under arrest. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.

On Monday, May 2, 2016 Officers of the Cumberland Police Department were called to a Williams Street residence for an assault in progress.  Upon arrival Officers located the suspect, Taryn Hartley-George.  Officers also spoke to the victim.  The victim stated he was upstairs inside of his residence when he heard someone enter the residence.  He walked downstairs and observed Taryn Hartley-George inside the residence.  An argument ensued and he advised Hartley-George to leave.  She refused and he attempted to escort her out of the residence.  At this point Hartley-George then grabbed the victim and began to scratch him with her fingernails.  The victim suffered injuries to the back of his neck and his left shoulder.  Hartley-George did not have any injuries.  Hartley-George was then placed under arrest and was transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  Hartley-George was processed and transported to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a hearing.  She was released on her personal recognizance.

Assault Arrest:

On Monday, May 2, 2016 at approximately 2:20 pm Cumberland Police Officers responded to the area of the McMullen Bridge in regards to a possible sexual assault.  Upon arrival Officers located and spoke to the victim.  She stated she was walking on a ramp from Henderson Avenue to the top of the McMullen Bridge.   While walking she observed an African American male walking toward her.  As the male passed her he allegedly turned around and grabbed the victim’s private areas on top of the clothing.  The victim screamed and struggled to get away from the male.  She stated the male laughed and walked away.  The victim described the suspect to the Officers.  Other Officers in the area were quickly able to locate a possible suspect.  The suspect, Larry Brown, was positively identified by the victim.  Brown was then placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Cumberland Police Department where he was charged and processed.  He was transported to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a hearing.  He was then remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center and ordered held without bond.
