On Monday, November 6, 2023 at approximately 3:08 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 300 block of Cumberland Street for an assault. Police contacted the alleged victim who reported that she had been assaulted by Julio Nelson. Officers observed that the victim had sustained injuries consistent with her statement. After further investigation, Nelson was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing. Nelson was taken to Central Booking and later seen by a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing. Nelson was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.
