On Friday, officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business on Virginia Avenue for a shoplifting complaint. The staff reported that the suspect, Cherokee Logsdon, stole merchandise from the store. After investigation, Logsdon was arrested, processed, and released on a criminal citation pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

On Saturday, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to Martins Supermarket on Park Street in reference to a Theft. Officers made contact with a manager of the store who observed Sommer Knotts, age 30 of Cumberland stealing merchandise. Knotts was detained by the manager as she was leaving the store with the stolen items until the officers arrived. Knotts was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where she was criminally cited for Theft. She was released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court. Sommer Knotts, age 30 of Cumberland, is charged with theft.
