Disturbance Complaint Leads to Arrest

On Thursday, July 12th, 2018 the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 300 blk. of Columbia Street for the report of a male causing a disturbance.  When officers arrived, the male in question was yelling loudly at other people in the area.  Officers identified the male as John Nollan Leighty.  He was told by officer to calm down and stop yelling.  He continued to yell and create a disturbance and was arrested for disorderly conduct.  He was taken to the Cumberland Police Department and later released on a Criminal Citation pending trail.

On April 18, 2015 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded 525 Columbia Avenue for a disturbance complaint.  Upon the officer’s arrival, they were advised by the residents that Nicky Lee Linn was inside their residence refusing to leave.  Officers made contact with Linn who was intoxicated and told to leave the residence.  Linn was also advised by the officers not to return to the property or cause any more problems or he would be arrested.  After clearing the residence, officers were dispatched back to 525 Columbia Avenue for a second disturbance involving Linn.  Officers once again made contact with Linn who was in the street yelling at the residents.  Linn was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  Linn was later released after being issued a criminal citation for failure to obey a lawful order.
