On Friday April 11, 2014 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence located in the 100 block of Wills Creek Avenue in reference to a Domestic Assault. Upon the officers arrival contact was made with the female victim who advised that she was assaulted by her husband, Trevor Laber. The victim stated that she and Laber were arguing over him lying to her, the victim stated that the argument then turned physical and Laber assaulted her by grabbing her by her neck and shoving her. Officers observed minor injuries to the victim which did not require medical treatment.
Laber was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. Laber was then taken to District Court for his initial appearance and he was released on his personal recognizance.

Second degree assault

On Monday night at 11:45 P.M. Tfc. Shrout responded to a Bowling Green Address for a Domestic Assault in progress. Upon arrival, Tfc, Shrout found a mother and her adult son, had been assaulted by Sean Patrick McElwee, 34, and fled the scene on foot. The female victim had been choked and struck multiple times in the face, which left bruises and swelling. Her son who attempted to stop McElwee from assaulting his mother had also been struck in the face, resulting in a swollen and bloody lip. McElwee was quickly located by the Allegany County Sherriff’s Department. McLwee was arrested by Tfc. Shrout, processed at the MSP BK C, taken to D.C. Commissioner and held at ACJ on $75,000 Bond.
