Construction update for downtown Cumberland from Melinda Kelleher, Executive Director Downtown Development Commission
- Finished the remaining waterline work for this project. All waterline work is completed and there will be no more scheduled water outages, except a brief one for Rehab 1st on Tuesday or Wednesday next week to tie them into the main line.
- Started storm sewer and fiber conduit work on North Centre Street. These items should take another 2-3 weeks to complete.
- Poured concrete roadway base on North Liberty Street and prepped parking areas for paver installation.
Next week:
- Detour route changes on Monday. New parking area will be delineated on Monday morning.
- Pavers will be installed in parking areas on North Liberty and the western block of Baltimore Street.
- Concrete curbs will be installed on South Liberty.
- Utility work to continue on North Centre. There will be localized sidewalk outages each day. We will try to keep signs posted and updated. All sidewalks will be open at 4PM each day.
A new traffic pattern will begin in downtown Cumberland on Monday.
