Downtown Development Commission Begins Planning of 2021 Events

With the hope that COVID-19 numbers will be declining in the region in the coming months, Cumberland’s Downtown Development Commission on Thursday began looking ahead to the 2021 schedule of events. Major events such as the downtown holiday tree lighting ceremony and the annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop were cancelled last year, although the DDC and the city did conduct a virtual tree lighting ceremony. Despite those setbacks, DDC officials are hopeful the popular Groundhog Day event can be held outside of City Hall in just a few weeks. Another event there is some optimism for is the Legends and Lore Harley Davidson Rally which had to be cancelled last year. Talks have centered on late June…
