On Friday officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to 759 Cleveland Avenue for a report of subjects inside the residence smoking marijuana. Upon the officers arrival they made contact with Darlene Elizabeth Palmisano. While the officers were speaking with Palmisano they could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the apartment. Officers informed Palmisano of the reason they were there and requested to come inside the apartment to speak with her. Once officers were inside the apartment they observed two smoking devices commonly used to smoke marijuana. Those items were later seized as evidence. Palmisano admitted to owning one of the devices and admitted to using it earlier to smoke marijuana. Palmisano was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. Palmisano was processed, served and released after being issued a criminal citation.

On Thursday morning Cumberland Police responded to a business in the 700 block of Park Street for a person attempting to fraudulently obtain prescription medication. Contact was made with employees who stated Jennifer Lynn Taylor presented a fraudulent prescription for medication and had left her identification at the business. Investigation revealed Taylor did not have a legal prescription for the medication. Police located Taylor at a nearby business and placed her under arrest for CDS Obtain by Fraud, CDS Obtain Prescription by Fraud, and CDS Obtain by Altered Prescription Taylor was taken before a District Court Commissioner where she was held on $3000 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
