The Allegany County Health Department reports that a community member in their 60s has died from COVID-19. This marks the 25th fatality attributed to the virus in Allegany County.
Fifty new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed since Monday, bringing Allegany County’s cumulative case total to 749. The latest cases include two males age 12 or under, two females and one male in their teens, six females and a male in their 20s, three females and three males in their 30s, four females and four males in their 40s, two females and three males in their 50s, eight females and four males in their 60s, and three females and four males in their 70s.
NORC at the University of Chicago is assisting with contact tracing throughout Maryland. In Allegany County, both NORC and the Allegany County Health Department are conducting contact tracing interviews over the phone.

Letting people know they have been exposed to COVID-19 and should monitor their health for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.

Helping people who may have been exposed to COVID-19 get tested.

Asking people to self-isolate if they have COVID-19 or self-quarantine if they are a close contact.
