On Friday, Governor Wes Moore issued a warning that SNAP benefits may not be available for the month of November. Over 680,000 Marylanders rely on the program, including 260,000 children. Almost 16,000 SNAP recipients live in Allegany County and the Western Maryland Food Bank’s Amy Moyer tells WCBC they have already seen an increase in those seeking assistance…
“We’re poised to be ready. I mean, I’m hoping something else happens because it’s going to be disastrous for people. It’s absolutely going to be a disaster. But we have the food bank stocked and ready.”
The Food Bank is always accepting food and financial donations, according to Moyer.
