Former BW Principal Brother Mark Lowery Dies

Brother Mark Lowery has died.  He served as principal at Bishop Walsh High School from 1972-1981.

During Brother Mark's tenure, Bishop Walsh High School saw its highest enrollment. Brother Mark was instrumental in the academic, spiritual, and athletic growth of the school.

Advanced Placement courses in several subjects were introduced and the fine arts program was enhanced. Priests were on campus to serve as ministers and overnight retreats were held for all classes.

In sports, city titles were garnered in football, basketball, and baseball. Brother Mark was heavily involved in the community, including the Alhambra.

Brother Mark Lowery was 84.
