Steve Sachs, who served as Attorney General of Maryland from 1979 to 1987, has died at the age of 87.
Sachs unsuccessfully ran for Governor against eventual winner William Donald Schaefer in 1986. He retired from private practice in 1999, but advised former Governor Martin O'Malley on legal issues involving the state police in 2006.
