Franchot advocates for Open Primary

In his first public appearance since losing his bid to become Maryland’s next governor, Comptroller Peter Franchot thanked those who supported him, but also made a call for open elections allowing independents to vote in the primary.  Franchot, who has served 16 years as comptroller following 2o years as a member of the House of Delegates,  finished third in last week’s Demcratic Primary behind Wes Moore and Tom Perez.
