Franchot Points to Accessibility if Elected Governor

Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot is a candidate for governor and he was asked during a recent interview- if elected- what would be his initial priorities. His response: Answer the phone. Franchot says a myriad of problems with the system revealed themselves during the pandemic. Hundreds of thousands of Marylanders in need of assistance routinely found themselves running into busy signals; recorded messages and no responses to emails. Franchot has made direct assistance available in the Comptrollers office- with enough staff on hand to deal personally with calls for help.
