A 77 year old Frostburg man died Sunday evening after being struck by a car near 188 West Main Street.
Frostburg City Police say that Albert Lee Hillegass was attempting to cross the east lane of travel near the crest of a hill when he was struck by a car driven by 26 year old Nathanial Cody Lease, of Hyndman. Hillegass was taken to UPMC Western Maryland by ambulance where he succumbed of his injuries.
Nighttime driving conditions, an obscured view from the crest of the hill, and the victim's dark clothing are all believed to have played a role in the accident.
