As part of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program, $12.1 million dollars in federal funding will go toward expanding electronic vehicle charging sites across Maryland.
The program will fund up to 80% of the cost of 130 fast-charging ports at 23 sites across 15 counties, including a site at the Pilot Travel Center in Grantsville off Interstate 68.
Participants will have one year to build the new EV charging ports for sites to open by fall 2025.
