Is the future of AES in question? What started out as a routine action agenda item for the county was stopped short when Allegany County Commissioner Creade Brodie asked to table the measure for the Manufacturer’s Tax Exemption Credit for the AES Warrior Run plant. The exemption would be for 2.4 million dollars for a period of 10 years. There is an agreement in place for AES and First Energy to end their Power Purchase Agreement five years early.
