Gas Line Project will Slow Greene Street Traffic Friday

April 28th, 2022 by WCBC Radio

The City of Cumberland Engineering Department, on behalf of Columbia Gas of Maryland, would like to notify the public that on Friday, April 29, beginning at approximately 7:00 am, Greene Street will be under a flagging operation between Johnson Street and Smallwood Avenue. The operation will occur between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.

The closure is necessary to allow Columbia Gas to make repairs to their gas main.

The traffic light at the intersection of Greene Street and Johnson Street will be turned off and flaggers will direct traffic around the construction site.

Delays should be expected. Residents are advised to avoid the area as much as possible during this time to allow for the work to be completed safely and successfully. Pedestrian walking paths will be maintained throughout construction.

Thank you for your cooperation during this time. Please use caution in the area and follow all traffic control devices that will be in place. If there are any questions, please contact the City of Cumberland Engineering Department, 301-759-6600.
