Prices nationwide, and throughout many areas in Maryland, are beginning to see a rebound in prices at the pump, following increased demand during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. After a 33-day decline, the national gas price average rebounded slightly this week. Today’s national average price for regular gasoline is $2.26 per gallon, which reflects a two cents increase from last week, but remains lower than last month’s price by 11 cents and unchanged from last year’s price. At $2.23 per gallon, Tuesday’s gas price average was the lowest price on Independence Day since 2005 and the lowest so far this year. Maryland’s average cost is three cents lower than the national average at $2.23 per gallon, which reflects a 2 cents increase from a week ago and a 12 cents decline compared to last month’s price. The state average continues to remain lower than last year’s price, reflecting a three cents per gallon drop. Cumberland is down a penny from last week, standing at $2.36
