Prices at the pump nationwide and in Maryland continue to trend lower than last year’s prices, with retail gas costs in regions across the state now following suit. At $2.31 per gallon, today’s national gas price average is a nickel cheaper than it was on this day one year ago, three cents less compared to last month and four cents lower than the price a week ago. Since June 2, Maryland’s average cost at the pump continues to trend lower than the nationwide price. Today the state average is three cents lower than the national average at $2.28 per gallon, which reflects a five cents drop from last year’s price on this date. Maryland’s average is three cents less compared to last month and five cents cheaper than last week’s price. In Cumberland the price dropped a penny down to $2.41 this weekend.

Prices at the pump continue to drop with the national average falling for 14 consecutive days after a slight uptick earlier in the month. The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline dropped to $2.22 per gallon today, down six cents in the last week and a low unseen since February 2015. Maryland’s gas prices are following a similar pattern to the nationwide trend, dropping for 13 consecutive days. The state average is four cents lower than the national average at $2.18 per gallon and also at a low price not seen in eight months. Maryland’s average is four cents less than one week ago, eight cents less than last month, and 87 cents per gallon cheaper than last year on this date. Cumberland is down a penny from a week ago now averaging $2.21 per gallon
