On Monday, August 11, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the George Street parking garage for a nuisance complaint. Upon searching the area, Officers located two individuals trespassing at the top of the garage who appeared to be using a controlled dangerous substance. The Officers made contact with Samantha Nelson and Jason Stottlemyer and were able to observe paraphernalia in plain view. The Officer then advised Nelson that she was under arrest. She began to resist but was ultimately arrested and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, where she was held without bond. Stottlemyer was transported to Police Headquarters, where he was released on citations pending his trial.

CHARGES: Trespass Posted Property, Obstructing and Hindering, CDS Possession not Cannabis, CDS Paraphernalia Possession, Resist Interfere with Arrest.

CHARGES: Trespass Posted Property, CDS Paraphernalia Possession
