George Smith, who was the star of Ask Georgie Greenthumb along with Doc Webster, has died at the age of 78 in Monroe, Michigan. Arrangements are being handled by Adams Family Funeral Home.
Georgie was an expert on all things planted, and listeners would call into the show Saturday mornings with questions on how to revive a plant that was struggling, or what would be the best thing to plant in their particular soil. He was never at a loss for answers.
George Smith was on WCBC from the 1970’s until the new millennium.
