Gov. Wes Moore was on CNN on Thursday, urging the FBI to put their headquarters in Prince George's County. Moore argued that Landover and Greenbelt both provide the correct choice regarding timeline, costs and access to public transportation. Those are all criteria the GSA will consider in its final decision. The Landover site would be located near the old Landover Mall, near FedEx Field. The Greenbelt site is near the Beltway Plaza Mall.
According to the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, the two proposed Maryland sites are build-ready and can finish the new FBI headquarters two to four years earlier than the competing site in Virginia, saving taxpayers between $250 million and $500 million.
