Congressman David Trone and Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen announced $112,900 in US Department of Agriculture grant funding for community development projects across Western Maryland. The federal funding will support a number of projects in Allegany, Frederick, Garrett, and Washington Counties. A grant of $23,200 went to the Orleans Volunteer Fire Company to purchase new equipment to replace outdated systems including an automatic chest compression system, a positive-pressure ventilation fan, and three new hose nozzles. $50,000 went to Grantsville to purchase a new dump truck and plow for snow removal.
