When the Freedom Train visited Cumberland in 1976, thousands flocked to the Western Maryland Train Station to visit the museum on wheels that celebrated the country’s Bicentennial.  Now, there’s a mystery to be solved, and Bruce Pfeifer of the Western Maryland Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society is inviting the public to help by stopping by the train station to check out a photograph…

  

“We have a picture from 4 years ago. If you were in Cumberland June 28, 1976 when the Freedom Train was here – we have a photograph of the platform and we’re trying to identify everybody in the photo.”
