On Thursday December 17th at approximately 10:30 pm, the Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of 16135 McMullen Hwy in BelAir for a reported hit and run involving a pedestrian. Mr. Tyler Edwards, 18, of McMullen Hwy Cumberland advised that he had been struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Rt. 220. A witness observed the accident and advised that the vehicle struck Mr. Edwards on the passenger side and was described only as a possibly a Toyota. Vehicle maybe missing the passenger side mirror.
Edwards was transported by Cresaptown Ambulance to WMHS. Anyone with information should contact the Allegany County Sheriff's Office at 301-777-5959.

Maryland State Police Tuesday responded to Upper Georges Creek Road near Shaft, regarding a hit and run collision. The investigation revealed that an unknown suspect(s) struck Onas Hanekamp, 66, of Lonaconing, Maryland while he was on a bicycle and then fled northbound on Upper Georges Creek Road toward Frostburg. Hanekamp was transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center by Frostburg Ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was driving a white van that had no windows on the rear.
