Maryland General Assembly leaders reject President’s call for gas tax holiday.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday called on states to impose a gas tax holiday, but WBAL reports that is not likely to happen in Maryland. In a joint statement released by House Speaker Adrienne Jones and Senate President Bill Ferguson, both have rejected the idea of a gas tax holiday. Both said Maryland has already done what the president is proposing at the federal level in imposing a gas tax holiday while using money to boost the Transportation Trust fund. Ferguson said states cannot unilaterally bear the burden of increased gas prices driven in part by Putin's aggression in Ukraine and in part by the corporate greed of oil companies bringing in record profits…
