December 22nd, 2023 by WCBC Radio

On Thursday, December 21st, 2023, The Cumberland City Police responded to the area of Howard St for the report of a hit & run crash. Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim in the incident. They advised officers that their vehicle had been struck in the rear end by a black Nissan as they were sitting at a red light on Queen City Drive. The victim advised the Nissan then drove off, failing to stop after the crash. The victim then contacted the police and followed the suspect vehicle to the area of Howard St. It was there that they observed the Nissan strike a pole and eventually come to a stop.

Officers then made contact with the female occupants of the suspect Nissan. They first spoke with the female driver, identified as Kelsey Lynn Law, 25, of Lavale MD. During the investigation, Law was tested and suspected to be driving while under the influence of alcohol. She was subsequently placed under arrest, and transported to Police Headquarters. She was issued multiple traffic citations for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident. She was later released, pending her trial in District Court.

Officers then contacted the female passenger of the suspect Nissan, Natalya Nicole White, 19, of Corriganville MD. During the investigation, officers discovered that White had an active Arrest Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court for an incident that occurred on November 24th, 2023. During that incident, officers had responded to the 200 block of George St for the report of a head-on motor vehicle crash involving 2 passenger cars. The investigation on November 24th determined White was driving the at-fault vehicle and crossed the center line, striking an oncoming vehicle. It was determined that White was also under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. It was then discovered that the vehicle she was driving was stolen out of Dearborn Heights Michigan. White was arrested and charged on November 24th under a false name due to providing officers with a fraudulent driver’s license she had stolen from a family member with her likeness. As a result, the initial charges on November 24th were recalled and an Arrest Warrant issued for White under her real name.

On this night, White was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center to await her Initial Appearance. It was at this time, White was found to be concealing an amount of suspected alprazolam tablets, a schedule IV controlled dangerous substance, on her person. During her Initial Appearance for both the Arrest Warrant and CDS charges, White was released on a total of $12,500 in unsecured personal bonds.
