The murderer of Travon Lee Morris was sentenced yesterday in Circuit Court in Cumberland. Gavin Wayne Huckabay, 22, was sentenced to 40 years in prison with all but 35 years suspended for murder in the second degree, and 20 years with all but 5 years suspended for firearm use during a felony conviction. Those sentences are consecutive. The murder occurred in December of 2021 on Memorial Avenue at Jane Frazier Village where Morris was shot 4 times while in the process of moving. Huckabay will also be placed on 5 years probation when released from prison.
