Investigation Into Fatal Fire Continues

State and city fire investigators are continuing efforts to determine the cause of the Harrison Street fire that killed two young sisters in January. Deputy Chief State Fire Marshal Jason Mowbray, commander of the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Western Regional Office, said this week that the case remains open and follow-up work is ongoing. As rumors continue to swirl as to what actually led to last month’s fatal fire on Harrison Street in Cumberland – fire officials and local law enforcement are moving ahead with the active investigation. The fire took the lives of two young sisters- and has been deemed to have been accidental, although what caused the accident is something that is still part of the investigation. Speaking at a Wednesday morning press conference on the importance of smoke detectors- Deputy Chief Fire Marshal Jason Mowbray did say that at this point- there appears to be no evidence of criminal activity being a possible cause…
