Justice Facing Sale of Lands Around Resort

February 8th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

Governor Jim Justice is facing an auction of lands around his Greenbrier resort to satisfy a multi-million dollar debt. The Greenbrier Sporting Club is a collection of private housing lots surrounding the historic resort in White Sulphur Springs.  Carter Bank and Trust is looking to collect $300 million in outstanding debt from the Governor and his family companies. The Justice family tried to avoid the judgements on the properties by claiming unfair business practices by the bank but a Martinsville judge dismissed the case.  An auction is planned on the courthouse steps in Greenbrier County March 5th.
