The Maryland General Assembly passed the Kids Code bill this year, which will mandate that companies take more steps to insure the safety of children online. The legislation says that companies may not sell the personal information of children and must stop designing features that are detrimental to the well-being of a child. Solomon said he anticipates a court challenge to the legislation but the stakes are too high to not help children’s safety…
