The WMHS Auxiliary, serving UPMC Western Maryland, announced that today is the last chance to attend their summer fundraising gala–A Shimmering Summer Night– scheduled at the Cumberland Country Club on June 4, 2022, from 8 pm until midnight. The event features a cocktail buffet with an open bar during the cocktail hour, a silent auction, and dancing to the classic sounds of Queen City Funk and Soul. Proceeds benefit UPMC’s Center for Hope and Healing here in Cumberland – a 24/7 crisis resource facility for those struggling with opioid addiction and other substance misuse.

In 2019, the Auxiliary made a five-year, $1 million commitment to the new crisis resource facility as part of the organization’s pledge to combat opioid addiction in the region. To date, the Auxiliary has raised more than $650,000 toward its goal, thanks in large part to the generosity of its donors.
Major donors to the event include Belt Construction Group, Boggs & Company, Wealth Management, the Queen City Armory, U.S. Acute Care Solutions, and Walter N. Yoder & Sons. The Auxiliary expressed a special thanks to all 15 sponsors of this year’s event.
