Maddox Confirmed As District Judge

Maryland’s US Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen praised the recent confirmation of US Magistrate Judge Matthew Maddox to serve as US District Court Judge for the District of Maryland.  The bipartisan vote was 55-42 in favor of Maddox.  Senator Cardin spoke for Maddox on the Senate floor prior to the vote…


The US District Court for Maryland currently has a full complement of 10 active judges.  US Chief District Judge James Bredar has informed the White House of his intention to take senior status in 2024, which will open a new vacancy. Senators Cardin and Van Hollen are now accepting applications from lawyers for this position.
