That’s Allegany County Tourism Director Ashli Workman announcing the launch of a new joint website for Allegany and Garrett Counties. MakeItInTheMountains.com is a workforce initiative by the counties and the Maryland Department of Commerce. Funded through the Appalachian Regional Commission, the website and strategy addresses the need for a business recruitment plan to attract companies producing goods including kayaks, boats, bikes or ATVs to locate in Western Maryland by trading on the natural beauty, quality of life, and affordability of the region.
