On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Marion Street for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the victim of the assault as well as locating the suspect, Samuel Goetz, nearby. An investigation was conducted, and as a result, Goetz was placed under arrest for assault. A search incident to the arrest of Goetz yielded a controlled dangerous substance and associated paraphernalia. Goetz was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center for his initial appearance. He was held without bond pending his trial at the District Court.

CHARGES:  Assault Second Degree, Disorderly Conduct, Disturb the Peace, CDS Possession, CDS Paraphernalia Possession.
