Maryland House and Senate Republicans released a statement regarding the state’s FY 2025 Budget Outlook and the recommendations of the Spending Affordability Committee. House Minority Leader Jason Buckel said, “the budget outlook is sobering. A knee-jerk reaction from some Democrats in the General Assembly has been to call for higher taxes. This is something that Marylanders simply cannot afford.” Buckel went on to say in the statement that it is time to make difficult decisions to put Maryland on a stronger fiscal path that does not overburden tax payers.
