The State Board of Elections reported as of Thursday night that nearly 605,000 mail-in ballots have been requested and more than 218,000 have been returned. Some of the returned ballots will be counted ahead of Election Day. A judge approved the measure to count mail-in ballots ahead of Election Day in September. The state has nearly 300 drop boxes to collect the mail-in ballots.
