Maryland’s Department of Emergency Management has launched Maryland Travel Safety Week, encouraging Marylanders to practice safe travel habits. AAA is projecting that over 55 million Americans will travel over the Thanksgiving holiday – 49 million choosing to drive. Top holiday destinations this year are Florida, California, New York and Las Vegas. MDEM Secretary Russ Strickland urges all residents to be alert and be prepared. Plan to leave plenty of extra time to deal with the inevitable delays.
