Maryland State Board of Elections member Kelly Howells has announced her resignation, effective January 1.
Howells, a Republican and Prince George’s County resident, has been with the board since 2015. No reason for the decision was disclosed.
“Please know that I’m fine,” said Howells in a statement. “I’m a lucky person who has all the important blessings in life.”
Howells’ term was to expire in 2023. Governor Hogan will select her replacement.
