Maryland US Senator Chris Van Hollen is speaking out after the Maryland Congressional delegation was denied entrance to an immigrations and custom enforcement, or ICE, facility where they say people are being detained for deportation.  Lawmakers said it was part of their oversight duties to inspect the facility and check detainee conditions…

   

“Members of Congress, on behalf of their constituents, are allowed to go visit and look at these kind of holding facilities where people are being detained. And, despite the clear meaning of this law, she was told by higher-ups not to let us in.”
